YOOBI CLASSROOM PACKS

Yoobi wanted teachers, schools and administrators to understand exactly HOW they can receive a Yoobi Classroom Pack – so we outlined it in TWO STEPS.

STEP 1: Make sure your classroom qualifies for a classroom pack.

Yoobi supports elementary grade classrooms where at least 70% of the student population is enrolled in the federal free or reduced lunch program. If your classroom is not at an elementary school, or doesn’t quite qualify under the 70% rule – know that this is just the beginning for Yoobi. We hope to reach more classrooms and more grades each year, so please sign up for our teacher email list to get updates on when we will expand our give!

STEP 2: Contact your local Kids in Need Foundation Resource Center

Yoobi donates Classroom Packs through the Kids In Need Foundation’s (KINF) network of Teacher Resource Centers. To receive a Yoobi Classroom Pack, teachers/principals must contact their local KINF resource center. To find your closest KINF resource center, visit their page HERE. If your local resource center is currently out of Classroom Packs, they WILL receive more in the future (because every time a Yoobi item is purchased, a Yoobi item is donated to the KINF network) so keep checking back with your local resource center. If there is no resource center close to you, remember that this is just the beginning for Yoobi! KINF is constantly working to identify new resource centers to reach more classrooms around the country.

Receive a Classroom Pack!

That’s IT! Follow those two steps and YOU can receive a Yoobi Classroom Pack for your classroom. If you have any more questions, email them at info@yoobi.com.

SCHOOL HEALTH OFFICE EDUCATIONAL SERIES - SEVENTH SEGMENT

"Trauma-informed framework recognizes that our students are struggling with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, self-harm, and suicidal behaviors. Students and adults on campus can be impacted by students who have experienced trauma. By age 16, 2 out of 3 students on average will have experienced a potentially traumatic event such as bullying, divorce, the loss of a parent or loved one, parental incarceration, having a parent deployed, poverty, homelessness, and even witnessing and/or being subjected to abuse. Students who have experienced trauma have higher rates of suspension and unexcused absences and lower rates of graduation. A trauma-informed environment can be applied by schools to help with the individual student experiencing the trauma and as a schoolwide preventative framework. They build resilience by preparing schools to respond to student needs with accessible social, emotional and behavior supports”. ~ Jessica Varney, MPH Maricopa County Department of Public Health

Timing matters when it comes to deductibles. Understanding when yours resets and how to check your balance may help you avoid cost surprises when using your UnitedHealthcare benefits.

Our benefits run on a calendar year (January 1 - December 31), so every January 1st, your deductible is set back to zero, and you start over meeting your deductible.

You can view your deductible balance at any time at www.myuhc.com or by downloading the Health4Me mobile app.

GET A FLU SHOT!

There is still time to get vaccinated.

According to the Department of Health Services, cases of the flu doubled in Arizona with 752 cases reported last week alone and 346 cases reported the previous week.

This significant increase brought the number of lab-confirmed cases this flu season to approximately 3,300.

The flu vaccine is the best way to prevent influenza.

If you are on the District medical insurance plan, there is no cost to the member and eligible dependents for preventative services when using a contracted provider.
