BEE in the Know Header

Summer Vacation is almost here!

Dear Staff,

It's hard to bee-lieve, but we've arrived at the end of another school year. What better time to take a few minutes to reflect back on the past ten months and take stock of what we've been able to do and what that means as we look ahead to the 2019-2020 school year.

The commitment, contributions and passion of everyone in Pendergast is truly remarkable. There are so many accomplishments, it's difficult to capture them all, but they are evident in the success that our students and families experience which would not have been possible without the support of our amazing staff.

Beauty is looking ahead and moving forward to an endless amount of beautiful possibilities.

Thank you all for everything you have done and will continue to do to create a better future for our students. There is no other profession that so directly shapes the world of tomorrow like education.

Have an amazing summer!

I BEE-lieve in you!

HUMAN RESOURCES

IMPORTANT REMINDER - BENEFIT ENROLLMENT FORMS

If you newly elected, made a change to or cancelled a benefit that requires an enrollment form, you will need to have that form to HR no later than Friday, May 24, 2019.  If we do not receive the form, we will be unable to process that benefit.

If you have any questions, please call Barb Aquino, Benefit Specialist, at 623-772-2233.

ALLERGIES STILL GOT YOU DOWN?

Did you know you can utilize your virtual visit options to treat allergies? You might have been taking the same over the counter allergy medication that is no longer suppressing your histamine reactions to our beautiful blooming desert. A virtual call to an MD or Nurse Practitioner through your medical plan is a great, no-stress option to get advice that can alleviate your symptoms.

There are several other common conditions that can be treated virtually such as:

  • Bladder infection
  • Bronchitis
  • Cold/flu
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Pink eye
  • Rash
  • Sinus/Allergies
  • Sore throat
  • Stomach ache

The benefits of virtual care? You can complete your visit in the comfort of your own home or office in a private location. It's quick, easy (about 10-15 minutes) and depending on your medical plan and provider, less expensive than an in-person visit, or at least comparable on cost. The virtual doctors can call in prescriptions directly to your pharmacy. And NO WAITING ROOMS!

Virtual visits and telemedicine are most appropriate for acute care issues. If you are experiencing a more severe situation, please contact your physician right away or the nurse triage line so they can direct to you the best care setting.

For UHC Care24 UHC members, call the number on the back of your health ID card to access the Nurse Line 24 hours a day at: 1 (800) 638-7287 to be triaged to the appropriate care setting.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR MEDICAL PLAN FOR 2019-20

Beginning July 1, 2019, you must stay within the UnitedHealthcare network of providers to have your claims paid. Charges for out-of-network providers will no longer be covered.

A new tier for Specialty Drugs has been added to pharmacy coverage.

  • Tier 1 Specialty Drugs - $50 copay
  • Tier 2 Specialty Drugs - $100 copay
  • Tier 3 Specialty Drugs - $150 copay

Out-of-pocket maximums for employee coverage under both the $500 PPO Plan and the HDHP are now the same at $6,000.  The $500 PPO Plan out-of-pocket maximum for the family is $12,000. The HDHP out-of-pocket for family remains the same at $6,850.

Please contact your Benefits Specialist at 623-772-2233 with any questions or concerns.
