Guaranteed Ride Home Procedures
If you are an employee of the Pendergast School District and if you are a registered car pool participant, the district guarantees that you will have a ride home if...
- Your carpool partner has an emergency leaving you with no transportation home.
- If you are required to leave work during the work day due to a personal emergency.
If you are in need of a ride home, you should first contact your site TRP coordinator for assistance. If your site has no options available for a ride home, the district Transportation Department will assist in assuring that you obtain transportation to your home.
As a registered carpooler, employees are eligible to use this carpool incentive twice each school year. Emergencies are considered those that involve personal injury or illness of the employee or immediate family member that require the employee's immediate attention. The site supervisor will determine if an emergency truly exists.

Trip Reduction Programs Incentives
If you use an alternative mode to get to work (carpool, bus, bike, walk) you are eligible to participate in Pendergast's program. To sign up, see the site coordinator at your site (contact Ernie Meza for the name of the contact person at your school if you do not know who the coordinator is).
To participate in our program you must register! Here's a list of the great things about the program:
- Quarterly Prize Drawings - each site will have a quarterly drawing for a $25.00 prize
- "New Aternative Mode Users" or "Those Employees that Move Closer" are eligible to receive a one-time $5.00 gift certificate. This is available at all sites.
- Guaranteed Emergency Ride Home Program - Any AMUs (alternative mode users) will be given a ride home in the event of an emergency by a staff person or someone from transportation. See the site coordinator at your site for more information.
- High Pollution Advisories (HPA) - We post high pollution alerts to encourage you to use alternative modes on HPA day. Registered AMU employees who use an alternative mode of transportation to work on a HPA day are eligible to enter a drawing for one of two $30.00 gift certificates per HPA season.
- Preferred Parking for Carpoolers - We have two (2) spaces at each site marked for carpools (except the District Office which has one and Sonoran Sky which has four) available on a first come, first served bases. To park in these spots, you must be registered! If you need help in locating someone to carpool with, we offer zip code matching...contact Ernie Meza for details.
- Company Vehicles - there are two (2) company vehicles available for employee use during the day as needed. Vehicles can be checked out through the Transportation Department.
- Bike Racks / Secure Bike Parking - We have bike racks or indoor bike parking at all of our sites. See your site coordinator for exact locations.
- Showers & lockers are available to all of our bicyclists and walkers at each site.
Thank you for doing your part to help clean the air. Together we can make a difference! For information on finding a carpool partner call Valley Metro Rideshare at (602) 262-7433 or log onto www.sharetheride.comand for bus route information call (602) 253-5000 or log onto www.valleymetro.org.
