Although we do not have the lovely fall leaves seen in this picture, there are a lot of exciting things happening in our library this year.

1. There are books for all members of our community. We have books for parents and community members as well as books for our students. Come by we will show you what is new.

2. There will be a new book order here in October. These are books we are ordering now. If you have something you would like the library to purchase, please stop by and give us your suggestions.

3. Desert Mirage has a number of books on tape. If you are planning a vacation over the intersession, stop by and check out some books for you and your students to listen to on the ride to where ever you are going. There are both CD and Cassette tapes available.

Desert Mirage Library Usage

Desert Mirage uses open library scheduling. Any student may come to the library at any time of the day with permission of their classroom teacher. During this time students can come and exchange books or do research.

Circulation Procedures

Kindergarten and First grade students may check out one book per student. They may have this book for one week. Upon return of the book, students may check out another book.

In grades 2 through 8 students may check out 3 books at a time. At the discretion of the teacher any or all of these books may be taken home. Library books are checked out for one week and must be returned to the library before another book may be checked out.

There are no library overdue charges for books at Desert Mirage. However, students are not allowed to check out another book if they have any books overdue.

Damaged or Lost Books

If a book is damaged or lost, the student is responsible for the replacement cost of the book.
