The purpose of the Pendergast Enrichment Program is to service students who are identified as gifted and need a alternative learning environment. Gifted Education is classified as special education and is the right of the student.

Definition of Gifted Ed.

    The Javits Act (1988)
This definition is taken from the Javits Act, which provides grants for education programs serving bright children from low-income families:
"The term gifted and talented student means children and youths who give evidence of higher performance capability in such areas as intellectual, creative, artistic, or leadership capacity, or in specific academic fields, and who require services or activities not ordinarily provided by the schools in order to develop such capabilities fully."

 

 

I feel it is my job to prepare the students to be life long learners and prepare them to be successful  in their higher learning pursuits. It is a pleasure and privilege to work with these students.

About Me

 

I am a native Arizonan. I obtained my bachelors of Education at

Northern Arizona University .

This is my 25th year teaching in the Pendergast School district.

My parents were the most influential  people in my life, as is my family.

 

I love quotes and have included some throughout.

I love the Rolling Stones , reading and still drink TAB soda.
