We also have spelling. Word lists are sent home every Monday. The test is on Friday. There are 10 sounds, 5 sight words, 5 word family words, and a dictation sentence. The spelling test helps them learn to sound out words, recognize high frequency words, and prepares them to enter 1st. Grade. |

Yes, Kindergarten does have homework. It is a packet sent home every Monday and is due on Friday. It usually consists of pages that should be a review to your student. It also contains a reading log. Students should read or be read to 15 minutes every night. We chart a student reading progress in class with stars. Home is taking for a grade. It is very beneficial to your child. It helps them remember and practice what we’ve learned. |

If a students earns anything other than a green light, a note will be sent home explaining why. Parents must sign and return the note, showing that they are aware of the behavior. |

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES |
|
Individual behavior is monitored through a light system. Student start every day with a green light. If they are choosing to not follow the classroom rules, or not follow directions. They will be asked to change their light. The next step is yellow, after yellow is orange then finally red. If a student causes physical harm to another it is an automatic red light. When a student receives a red light, they must call home and tell their parents. |
