VISITORS TO THE CAMPUS:

Pendergast School District welcomes and encourages parents and other community members to visit the schools at any time. ALL VISITORS, INCLUDING PARENTS, MUST CHECK IN AT THE SCHOOL OFFICE BEFORE ENTERING THE SCHOOL. Anyone having business to conduct on campus must first report to the office. No person shall visit a classroom or other school activity without the approval of the principal. Failure to comply with this requirement is in violation of the law (Pendergast District Policy KK-R).

TELEPHONE CALLS:

In an effort to increase instructional time and limit the number of interruptions to the classrooms, calls will not be put through to the classrooms during class time. Our office staff will be happy to take a message for you. Teachers check their mailboxes three times a day; before school, at lunch and after school.

REPORTING AN ABSENCE:

To report absences please call our recorder at 772-2515. It’s on 24 hours a day! Please leave your child’s name, teacher and specific reason for the absence. State regulations require us to give an exact reason why your child will not be attending school.

TAX CREDIT:

The Arizona Department of Revenue has issued guidelines for a $250.00 tax credit to be applied against the individual’s Arizona State income taxes. A tax credit a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your tax liability is better than a tax deduction, which only reduces your taxable income before taxes are computed. The tax credit is available to all taxpayers. It is not a requirement that the taxpayer have a child enrolled in the public school system. Click here for Brochure.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY FEE:

The Pendergast School District believes that extracurricular activities are a very important part of the overall educational process. In order to provide these opportunities equitably to all schools and grade levels, a $2.00 activity fee has bee established. This fee will help offset the costs of field trips, tournament fees, referees, sponsor addenda, uniforms, club trips, and other items consistent with extracurricular programs. Please send your child’s $2.00 activity fee to the classroom teacher.

Withdrawal of Students - If you are moving or withdrawing your child from school, please call or come by the school a few days prior to the withdrawal date.  This will give the office staff time to ready the paper work you will need to enroll your child in his/her new school.

Illness - If your child becomes ill at school, we will contact you immediately.  If we cannot reach you, we will use the emergency contact information you have provided.  Please remember to keep all telephone, cellular and beeper numbers current in the event we need to contact you.

Lost & Found - Any lost or misplaced items found within the school will be sent to the lost & found located in the cafeteria.  These things may be reclaimed daily.  Unclaimed items will be donated to charity during winter break and at the end of the school year.

Communications - Villa de Paz provides newsletters and bulletins to keep you informed of school events and instructional activities.  Teacher notes are also written to keep you informed of student progress or to request information.  Please ask or check your child's book bag for these important notes.  Keeping the lines of communication open help with student success.
