MAKE YOUR DAY

The philosophical foundation of Make Your Day is that each student is responsible for coming to school ready to learn and is responsible for his/her actions.  Make Your Day centers on the following rule:  NO STUDENT HAS THE RIGHT TO INTERFERE WITH THE LEARNING AND SAFETY OF OTHERS.  Each student's self-esteem is positively enhanced when teachers and students provide each other with feedback about behaviors in a manner that respects the dignity of the student.

The Make Your Day plan provides each student a time for reflection and direction.  It encourages students to make decisions that develop problem solving skills and to accept responsibility.  The foundation of Make Your Day is as follows:

  • parents will be directly involved in their child's progress

  • all students are capable of success

  • appropriate choices at school, coupled with open communication between home and school, will generate student success

  • students must assume responsibility for their behaviors to, from and at school.
