Westwind Primary Uniform Guidelines

2008 - 2009

 

Guidelines:

  1. Colors: Maroon, white, or light blue tops and navy or khaki bottoms.
  2. Tops:
    • Short or long sleeved with collars. No sleeveless or spaghetti straps.
    • Mid-section may not be exposed when arms are raised.
  3. Bottoms:
    • Plain navy blue or khaki slacks, shorts, skirts, capris, skorts, jumpers or dresses.
    • Corduroy and sweat pants are OK. (NO DENIM)
    • CLOTHES MAY NOT BE MORE THAN ONE SIZE LARGER THAN MEASURED WAIST SIZE.
    • ALL BOTTOMS MUST BE WORN AT THE WAIST (NO SAGGING)
    • Belts: If a belt is worn, it may not hang out of the belt loops.
  4. Shoes:
    • NO FLIP FLOPS OR HEALIES (SHOES WITH WHEELS) even if the wheels can be pushed in.
    • Please remove wheels at home and do not allow students to bring wheels to school.
    • The soles or heels of shoes may not be higher than one inch.
    • ATHLETIC SHOES must be worn on P.E. days.
  5. Winterwear:
    • Maroon, white, navy, or light blue turtle necks and sweaters are OK, INSIDE THE CLASSROOM OR LEARNING AREAS (ie: library, computer labs, music, art, etc...)
    • Outdoor jacket/coats may be of any color when worn OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM OR LEARNING AREA.

NOTE:

  • New students have 10 school days from the day of their enrollment to be in uniform.
  • Beginning on the first day of enrollment, all students must also adhere to the District Student Dress in the Student/Parent Handbook 2006 -2008 which is alignds with JICA-R, ARS 15-341(a)(1).
  • No gang relates/associated attire or with advertisement of alcohol, drug, lewd behavior, or tobacco products will be allowed.
  • Spirit day dress codes will be announced as needed after approval by Westwind Primary School Administration.
