PESD Gives a Special Thanks to the HCSS Foundation

HCSS Foundation, coordinated the 5th Annual Back to School Drive to support PESD students

August 12, 2022 –Phoenix, Arizona – The Pendergast Elementary School District (PESD) gives  a special thanks to Cathy Sitarz and Julie Frentz, co-founders of the Helping Children Succeed in School Foundation (HCSS Foundation). For the past 5 years, HCSS has coordinated a back to school drive to support Pendergast District students. The Pendergast District is so thankful for their partnership with HCSS and appreciate all of the support they provide to their students, families, and staff. 

The Mission of the Helping Children Succeed in School Foundation is to "Help students, parents, teachers and schools by collecting backpacks, school supplies and items most needed for all to succeed." The 5th Annual School Supply Drive collected over 5000 items! Each of the twelve Pendergast Schools, the Pendergast Family Resource Center, and the McKinney-Vento Program received 2 boxes of school supplies and 2 bags of backpacks. 

The HCSS Foundation is a strong supporter of education and helps the Pendergast Elementary School District to continue being “a high-performing, collaborative community preparing students to compete in a globally connected society.”
