PESD Cabinet Member Receives the ASPAA Legacy Award

December 6, 2022 –Phoenix, Arizona – Patti Tussey, Chief Human Resources Officer in the Pendergast District, was recognized with the Legacy Award at the Arizona School Personnel Administrators Association (ASPAA) Fall Conference 2022.

This award is presented annually to an active member of ASPAA who has continuously made a significant impact during his/her career with ASPAA, and the field of human resources.  This award is not intended to just recognize those who had a longstanding membership with ASPAA and/or career in human resources. Rather, the intention is to recognize an individual whose impact and contribution was significant to the progress of his/her school district, ASPAA, and the field of human resources.

Pendergast Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Cruz shares, “Ms. Tussey is an exceptional human resources administrator with many years of experience. She has dedicated her entire professional career to helping school districts find the right people, giving them the right knowledge and skills, and guiding them on their career path into the future. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated her leadership, amazing work ethic, commitment to public education, mentoring of others, and innovative solutions that have helped raise the bar for the Human Resources Department at PESD and other districts in the state. Ms. Tussey is a valued member of the Pendergast District and we are grateful for her relentless pursuit of excellence.” 

Ms. Patti Tussey’s greatest desire is to support, encourage, and champion other human resources professionals to help them reach success. Her selflessness and willingness to help others has earned her the respect of the educational community and has allowed her to continue impacting the lives of those around her. Ms. Tussey deserves the recognition of peers and is without a doubt deserving of the ASPAA Legacy Award.
